プロジェクトの紹介 (Project Introduction)

The Contract 66 New Traffic Signals project will construct new traffic signals at twelve locations, construct upgrades to existing traffic signals at one location, and construct a new pedestrian activated flashing beacon at one location.  All new traffic signals and signal upgrades constructed by this project will include pedestrian countdown signals (PCS), accessible pedestrian signals (APS), traffic signal controllers, conduits, wiring, and poles. New handicap accessible curb ramps will be constructed at certain locations where they are missing or in need of replacement.

Eight of the fourteen project locations are on the Vision Zero High Injury Network. The planned improvements are intended to reduce injuries for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists in addition to clarifying the right-of-way for all users.

The project was made possible in part by Sales Tax dollars provided by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority and other local funds. Select locations are funded in whole or in part by contributions from developers.
