Crews drove trucks and brought heavy equipment into the tunnel to support Fix-It Week repairs. Teams replaced more than 5,000 feet of the overhead contact system that powers our trains. This work helps make Muni Metro more reliable.Crews inspected and flushed 34 standpipes, part of the subway hydrant systems. This ensures water can flow in case of a fire, enhancing station and subway safety.Crews checked ventilation systems at our stations to ensure proper air circulation. Tasks included removing debris and cleaning fan rooms. Crews rerouted grease lines that service emergency fans at Muni Metro stations. This reduces the need for future maintenance on fans.Crews inspected and made repairs to subway and surface switches to ensure trains can be directed properly and safely throughout the system. Custodial staff mopped Muni Metro platforms to keep our stations clean for riders.
