Requests for a Reasonable Modification of SFMTA Policies and Procedures
The SFMTA is committed to ensuring full access to our services for people with disabilities. Accommodation/Modification regulation of the Americans with Disabilities Act provides that transportation entities make reasonable accommodations/modifications to policies, practices, and procedures to ensure that services and programs are accessible to individuals with disabilities. Use the information below to request a change to make the transit system more accessible to you.
Reasonable Modification Requests
A rider may request a modification to Muni and SF Paratransit policies, practices or procedures to accommodate their disability. Modifications will be considered and granted if it is determined that the rider is not able to fully use Muni/SF Paratransit vehicles, programs, or activities for their intended purpose without the requested modification and said modification does not:
- Fundamentally alter the nature of Muni/SF Paratransit vehicles, services, programs or activities.
- Create a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
- Cause unreasonable financial or administrative burden.
