Muni buses, trains and street cars will take you anywhere you need to go to celebrate Pride.
Pride Month is now underway in San Francisco. The city’s connection to Pride dates back more than 50 years.
A year after the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion in New York, many large cities held events to commemorate what became a milestone in the modern LGBTQ+ movement. San Francisco was one of them. 30 gay and lesbian people marched down Polk Street on June 27, 1970. Over the years, the San Francisco Pride Parade has grown to become one of the largest in the country.
Meanwhile, Muni is more than a century old and part of the fabric of the city. And you can count on Muni to get you to Pride events this month.

The iconic Pink Triangle
Every June, volunteers create a pink triangle display on Twin Peaks. This annual installation began over 30 years ago in the early hours of one June morning. This year, it will stay up until June 28.
The pink triangle is a symbol of pride and a reclamation of a symbol with a dark history that goes back to World War II. You can find more information about the display at the Pink Triangle website.
Rainbow Honor Walk
Sidewalk plaques along the streets of the historic Castro neighborhood honor queer icons throughout history. Find a map, a list of honorees and more at the Rainbow Honor Walk website.
