If you have a disability:

Residents of California, disabled parking placard holders, and people who participate in Medicare may be able to use existing cards to pay a discounted fare.

If you have any of the below items, you can show them to the operator upon boarding and pay a discounted fare.

  2. A California disabled parking placard registration receipt and photo ID
  3. A valid Medicare card and Photo ID

.

How to pay:

On Buses and other surface lines:

On Muni Metro:

You may purchase a discount fare ticket from any of the Muni fare machines located on the concourse level of our stations.

I plan to stay in the San Francisco Bay Area for a month or longer, is there a better way to pay discounted fares?

If you plan to stay in the Bay Area for a month or longer, you may want to get a Clipper Access or Senior Card.  These cards provide you with discounted fares across all 9 counties of the Bay Area, including free and reduced transfer fares between agencies

You will need to allow up to 21 days to receive your discount card (in-person application required for Access passes)..  This is why they are best for visitors planning to stay for one month or longer.

More information on application requirements can be found at:
