These special events are part of our Merry Days of Muni campaign, designed to bring our riders a little extra joy over the holidays.
The campaign highlights the many ways Muni connects people to the places and traditions they love during the holidays. Riders will see festive bus wraps across the city, find new Muni merchandise in our online store and enjoy community events.
Merry Muni Skate Night: Wednesday, Dec. 3
- What: To celebrate the season in the heart of San Francisco, we are throwing an ice skating community celebration and giving away 300 free tickets!
Below are the details on how to join us, what to expect and how to get to the rink car-free with Muni.
How to join the event
There are two ways to attend Merry Muni Skate Night:
- Enter to win a free ticket
We’re giving away 300 free tickets for Muni riders. There will be two skating sessions to choose from:
- 7 p.m. session
- 8:30 p.m. session
Winners will be contacted directly with instructions and unique codes to redeem their tickets. All winners must redeem the tickets in advance on the ice rink’s website using their code and sign the required waiver before skating.

If you don’t receive a giveaway ticket, you can still join us by purchasing a ticket directly from the Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square. Standard rink ticketing rules and pricing apply. Visit the rink’s website for availability.
Our Patchwork of the City Holiday Pullover is the perfect outfit for your night out at the rink.
Special giveaways and treats
Stop by our Merry Muni event table for small giveaways while supplies last. We’ll also have complimentary hot cocoa for a sweet way to warm up.
Staff will be on-site to share more about the Merry Days of Muni and help take your photo by the rink.
Show your Muni pride – and stay warm!
Wear your Patchwork of the City pullover, any Muni merch or your favorite Muni-inspired outfit for a chance to win extra prizes. Anyone wearing Muni gear will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Patchwork of the City Holiday Pullover (only sizes adult S/M/L/XL available for raffle, all other sizes available online for purchase) or a $25 Muni Store credit.
We also recommend bringing gloves, warm socks and a jacket! They’ll help keep you comfortable on the ice.

Muni Diaries Art Market: December 6
- Where: KALW Media Live Event Space – 220 Montgomery Street, San Francisco, CA
- When: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- What: Celebrate the holidays with transit themed art, creativity and community brought to you by Muni Diaries and KALW Public Media.
55 Dogpatch Wine Progressive: December 7
- Where:
- Horsies Market & Saloon – 3368 19th Street, San Francisco
- Ruby Wine – 1419 18th Street, San Francisco
- When: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- What: Stop by Horsies Market & Saloon and Ruby Wine for great pours and local culture. We’re here to be your ride! The 55 Dogpatch connects both local businesses on this neighborhood wine progressive.
Stay safe, skip the car and let Muni be your designated driver as you explore two beloved neighborhood spots and connect with other riders. The fun includes limited-edition merch!
Winter Walk in Union Square: December 13–24
- Where: Stockton Street between Post and O’Farrell streets
- When: Monday to Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- What: Winter Walk, San Francisco’s signature holiday event, returns to Union Square Dec. 13 to 24. This 12-day celebration transforms two blocks of Stockton Street into a festive holiday destination. The annual event will once again feature a holiday marketplace, food trucks, family-friendly stage programming, holiday decor and seasonal drinks.
Merry Days of Muni kicked off with this festive wrap and now we hope you'll join us for community events.
