Hayes Street will be closed every Friday and Saturday for the remainder of this month for the Hayes Valley Shared Spaces event. During the street closure, Muni will reroute the 6 Hayes/Parnassus Route around the area. This event is expected to continue throughout the remainder of 2026. Website updates will be posted monthly as needed.
The Castro Night Market will take place on Friday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to Saturday, May 16 at 1 a.m. on 18th Street and within the 18th Street parking lot. The Night Market will feature local food vendors, merchants and live entertainment. There will be street closures and Muni will reroute around the event area.
The San Francisco Italian Athletic Club will host an Alfa Romeo Car Show and Lunch in North Beach on Saturday, May 16. The car show will start at 10:30 a.m. with the ticketed lunch event beginning at 12 p.m. There will be a small street closure and Muni will reroute the 39 Coit.
The Bus Stop Saloon in Cow Hollow will celebrate 126 years of serving San Francisco this Saturday, May 16. This special event will close a one-block portion of Union Street and require a reroute of the 45 Union/Stockton route.
Beginning on Saturday, May 16, street closures will begin for the annual Bay to Breakers footrace that takes place on Sunday, May 17. Event-related street closures and Muni reroutes will begin near Howard, Steuart, and Spear streets on the evening of May 16.
On Sunday, May 17th, Muni will be offering extra service to get you to Bay to Breakers. Extra service will supplement the N Judah Line, the 5R Fulton Rapid, 7 Haight/Noriega, 18 46th Avenue, and 28 19th Avenue routes.
This additional service may not show in website & app predictions and will not be available on the 511 Transit website schedules or trip plans.
The annual Bay to Breakers race will take place this Sunday, May 17. This footrace has been run for more consecutive years over a given course and length than any other footrace in the world. Streets will be closed and Muni will reroute service along the race route. After the race, Muni will provide express service back to the downtown area.
