Muni Heritage Weekend, happening from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sept. 19-20, celebrates the transit system that has connected San Francisco since 1912. Enjoy free rides on rare historic vehicles and other fun activities.
Hayes Street will be closed every Friday and Saturday for the remainder of this month for the Hayes Valley Shared Spaces event. During the street closure, Muni will reroute the 6 Hayes/Parnassus Route around the area.
The Castro Night Market will take place on Friday, September 18, from 5 to 10 p.m. on 18th Street and within the 18th Street parking lot. The Night Market will feature local food vendors, merchants and live entertainment. There will be street closures and Muni will reroute around the event area.
From the E Excelsior Night Market is a night of food, fun, unique crafts, entertainment and live music taking place on Ocean Avenue this Friday, September 18, from 12 p.m. to midnight. There will be a minor reroute of the 49 Van Ness/Mission Route during the event.
On Saturday, September 19, the San Francisco Lowrider Council will host the King of the Streets lowrider cruise and car show along Mission St. through the Mission neighborhood. Mission Street between 18th and 26th streets will be closed to traffic and Muni service during the event.
The Chinatown Merchants Association is hosting the annual Autumn Moon Festival on Grant Avenue and nearby Chinatown streets. The festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Streets will be closed all weekend, but there will be no reroutes to Muni service in the area, though some minor delays on the 1 California and 12 Folsom/Pacific routes may be possible.
The Haight Ashbury Street Fair is an annual event featuring arts and crafts, food vendors, three musical stages and more. The event takes place Sunday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Haight Street between Masonic and Stanyan, with street closures from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Muni will reroute around the event area.
Fiesta on the Hill will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Cortland Avenue in Bernal Heights on Sunday, September 20. Streets will be closed and Muni will reroute for the event.
Bar Iris (2310 Polk Street) will be holding its annual Block Party on Sunday, September 20. This event will require one block of Polk - between Union and Green - to be closed to traffic including Muni. No stops will be missed during the reroute.
The annual Leather Pride Festival & Leather Walk will be held on Sunday, September 20. The Leather Walk is scheduled to depart from Eagle Bar at 11:30 a.m. and arrive at the Leather Fest at 2:30 p.m. There are no planned or expected Muni reroutes for this event, but minor delays may be possible.
In celebration of the SFMTA Muni Heritage Event, vintage vehicle displays and rides for the public will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As a result, the 2 Sutter will be rerouted around the event area.
