Event Summary
San Francisco's annual Juneteenth Parade takes place on Saturday, June 20, beginning at 11 a.m.. The parade commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans and celebrates African American culture. This year's parade route will be different from previous iterations, beginning at Market and Second streets and proceeding to Embarcadero Plaza. Muni service will be rerouted in the area of the parade and there will be multiple street closures.

Street Closures
The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic at the specified times:
Starting at 8 a.m.:
- Second St. from Market to Folsom
Starting at 10:30 a.m.:
- Market from Second to Steuart
Getting to the Parade
The easiest way to get to the parade is via the Muni Metro Subway. If you're marching in the parade, Montgomery Station is closest to the formation area. If you're going to watch the parade, Montgomery and Embarcadero stations are the best options.
Parade Route
The parade will begin at 11 a.m. from Market & 2nd, proceeding east along Market to Embarcadero Plaza.
Muni Service Changes
Several Muni lines and routes will not be able to serve Market Street during the Parade. Many Market Street routes are rerouted to Mission Street. These reroutes will stop at regular stops for the 14 Mission Route. Some routes will switchback -- changing direction from inbound to outbound -- before they reach Market Street.
The table below summarizes the changes by line/route, including when the change starts. Service will return to normal after the streets are clear.
