Claire, a gray-haired Black woman is pictured smiling with a medal around her neck. She is wearing a black jacket. A metro vehicle passes behind her.

Meet Claire, a lifelong San Francisco resident and former Muni bus operator with nearly 30 years of service. Claire made history as the first woman to be named Operator of the Month. She emphasizes the impact that empathy and kindness can have on public transportation. We thank you, Claire, for your indispensable role in moving San Francisco!

We hope Claire’s story and other Faces of Muni spotlights will inspire important conversations around accessibility. On Claire’s story and others throughout the year, we encourage you to share why accessible transportation matters to you. You can share a comment on posts or tag us with #MuniMatters.
