Join the SFMTA Photo Archive for a guided tour of the exhibit Moving San Francisco: Views from the SFMTA Photo Archive 1903 - Now, followed by a film screening at the San Francisco Public Library.
Tour starts at 5pm in the North Light Court at City Hall. Late arrivals should proceed to the ground floor to join the group in the gallery hallway.
Screening starts at 6pm at the Main Branch Library, 100 Larkin Street (at Grove).

About the Exhibit & Tour 5pm-5:45pm:
Moving San Francisco is a collaboration between the SFMTA and San Francisco Arts Commission and is on view at City Hall through November 25. This exhibit highlights San Francisco history through over 100 photos of our iconic transportation system. Featuring images taken between 1903 and 2025, see the people, places, and things that move in our city. Cable cars transition to buses and Muni Metro trains, neighborhoods sprout from sand dunes and San Franciscans make their way from point A to point B. Throughout the exhibition are favorite Muni memories and favorite routes shared by San Franciscans; a love letter to the iconic transit system.
During this informal tour, we will take an in-depth look at selected photos from San Francisco transit history and learn more about the stories and people behind them.

Halfway to the Stars: San Francisco cable cars go to the movies
Clang! Clang! Hang on for a wild ride as we hop on and off cable cars in movie after Hollywood movie. Funny, scary, or just wonderfully wacky, San Francisco’s iconic mode of transportation plays a variety of roles in this program of carefully curated clips from films including Yours, Mine, and Ours, The Rock, Doctor Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine, and What’s Up, Doc? Presented by Jim Van Buskirk.
