The SFMTA started giving speeding tickets in August 2025. These speeding tickets come from street cameras. The camera sees if a car is going too fast. If the car is speeding, the camera takes a picture. A speeding ticket is then sent in the mail automatically. A speeding ticket is a civil penalty.
