Muni Subway Service Opens an Hour Late on Weekend

Construction crews of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) are continuing the work to replace the blue light emergency telephone and radio systems after service hours in the subway. In support of the system upgrades, the Muni subway service may open an hour late at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 16 and at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 17.

Depending on the work progress, the subway service may open late at the same times throughout April.

The blue light emergency telephone and radio systems, last installed in the 1970’s, are over 40 years old. The system upgrades will improve the safety and reliability of Muni Metro system.
