Protest a Speeding Ticket

Important

Do not pay the speeding ticket if you plan to protest it.

You must start your protest (Admin Review) within 30 days of the "Issue Date" found on your Speeding Ticket (Notice of Violation).

Decision letters are sent by mail only within 60 days of the date of the challenge.


Situations that may apply to you:

There are a couple situations that may apply to your situation. If none of them apply you can still submit a general protest.

The car was recently sold

The car was rented out to another person

The car was stolen

If the car was stolen learn more about requirements and instructions on our stolen car webpage.


If none of these situations apply, you can submit a General Protest

Submit the Protest Online (Recommended)

  1. Visit the online portal at:
    www.violationinfo.com
  2. Click on Get More Information (inside large green block)
  3. Enter your Notice Number and PIN.
  4. Click on Submit for Admin Review
  5. Upload the any supporting documents.

Submit the Protest by USPS mail

  1. Complete the Speeding Ticket Protest Form

  2. Mail the form to:

Submit the Protest In Person

  1. Complete the Speeding Ticket Protest Form
    Download the Protest Form - English
  2. Drop off the form Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
    Note: The Customer Service Center is closed on federal and state holidays
