We’re hosting fun programming all week to help students get around on Muni.
From Feb. 2-6, 2026, we’re celebrating Ride Muni to School Week, our annual citywide event that promotes Muni as a safe, fun and accessible way for students to get to school. Every year, we host fun and engaging programming to celebrate and encourage students to take Muni to school, extracurriculars or to just get around.
This year, we’ll be popping up at schools across San Francisco with exclusive Muni-themed incentives for riders all week long. We’ll also be hosting our annual Ride Muni to School Week art contest.
Ride Muni to School Week starts today at middle and high schools across the city.
Calling all artists – show us what Muni means to you!
Do you want another way to rep your Muni pride? We’re inviting all K–12 students to submit original artwork to our Ride Muni to School Week art contest. Whether you sketch, paint or design digitally, make something that responds to one of the following prompts:
- Meme-ify Muni! Take your favorite meme and incorporate Muni in a creative way.
Remember to keep it family-friendly. Public transit hubs and Muni vehicles can be used as inspiration for settings and more.
- Ride on the wild side! Draw your favorite animal riding Muni, waiting at a Muni station or reimagined as a Muni vehicle.
You can use any animal, including fictional or mythical ones. Including specific Muni lines (i.e. L Taraval or 14 Mission) is encouraged!
Submission guidelines:
- All media welcome: drawing, painting, mixed media, digital, etc.
- Artwork should be 8.5” x 11”
- Email a copy of your art to SRTSContest@sfmta.com with your name, school and grade level
- Deadline: Fri., Feb. 27, 2026
Your creativity could take you places! One winner from each age group (K-5, 6-8, 9-12 and Access) will receive a Muni-themed prize pack and $50 Blick gift card.
Just like Leandro’s “Muni Dawg,” your artwork could win you cool prizes!
