Event Summary
PG&E and the SFMTA are planning infrastructure maintenance work along the N Judah Line. To accommodate this work, the N Judah will be motorized (service provided by buses) from Church Street & Duboce Avenue to La Playa Street from Saturday, December 6 through Sunday, December 7, 2025. LRVs (light rail vehicles) will operate in both directions between Duboce & Church and 4th & King/Caltrain during this time.
The SFMTA is getting ready for important maintenance work to help keep Muni safe and reliable. Crews will inspect the Sunset Tunnel, repaint handrails and safety markings, upgrade lighting, replace overhead wire, improve platforms, and install new accessibility features. This work strengthens the system, reduces delays, and supports a smoother and safer ride for everyone.

Muni Service Changes
The N Judah Line will be serviced by buses along the surface between the Judah and La Playa terminal and Church Street & Duboce Avenue. N shuttle buses will service curbside stops along the length of the route in both directions.
Notes:
- N trains will still operate in the Market Street subway and along The Embarcadero between Van Ness Station and Caltrain, with westbound trains switching back on the surface at Duboce & Church.
- There may also be minor delays in service for the 37 Corbett, 43 Masonic, and 44 O'Shaughnessy routes near the planned work areas near Judah St. in the Inner Sunset and near Carl St. in Cole Valley.
