SFMTA Public Meetings, Sept. 15 – 26

Monday, September 15, 2014

One of the main reasons Moving SF exists is to make it easier to learn about transportation in our town.

This post will do just that by introducing our Meeting Round-up column.

This bi-weekly feature will highlight different SFMTA public meetings that will be held within the coming two weeks. These meetings give you the chance to voice your concerns and provide us helpful suggestions. Join us at our next meeting to learn more about SF's changing and complex transportation system.

Below are a few highlights. You can find a full list of upcoming meetings and keep up to date on your favorite SFMTA committees here.

City Hall, Room 400
Nearby Muni Routes: 5, 19, 21, 47, 49, F Market, Metro—Civic Center Station

Our Board of Directors meetings are usually held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

The agendas are posted under “Meetings” on the Board’s web page the Friday before the meeting. All regular meetings can be viewed on channel 78 or online at SFGovTV2.

These are the Friday hearings where traffic and parking changes that often stem from public requests or larger agency initiatives are vetted in front of a city traffic engineer and hearing officer. The final legislated changes are approved by the Board of Directors at their next meeting.

Agendas are posted 10 days in advance under “Meetings” on the Engineering Public Hearings web page.

Vision Zero Task Force: 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 23

City Hall, Room 201
Nearby Muni Routes: 5, 19, 21, 47, 49, F Market, Metro—Civic Center Station

Vision Zero is the citywide initiative to eliminate all traffic deaths and reduce severe and fatal injury inequities across neighborhoods, transportation modes and populations in SF by 2024.

The Vision Zero Task Force meets quarterly and is made up of staff from the SFMTA, the Mayor’s Office, and several other city agencies. The Task Force meetings serve as a forum for city staff and the public to give feedback on current Vision Zero efforts, identify issues that need addressing and work to resolve any challenges that may impede those issues.

Agendas are posted three days in advance under “Meetings” on the Vision Zero web page.
