Scenes From a Beautiful Bike to Work Day

Friday, May 13, 2016

We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Bike to Work Day as much as we did. Per the annual tradition, we were once again joined by supervisors, our partner agencies and the SF Bicycle Coalition in rides from around the city which convened in front of City Hall.

Today, we thought we’d share some beautiful shots from the event taken by our agency’s photographer, Jeremy Menzies.

Bike commuters enter a green, curbside bike lane separated from opposing vehicle traffic by a concrete divider and fence.

Bike commuters enter the Polk Street contra-flow protected bike lane at Market Street towards City Hall.

A smiling boy and girl with a bike and scooter, respectively, stand among the Bike to Work Day crowd.

After a nice ride, who doesn’t smile this much?

A crowd of people with bikes fills the sidewalk in front of City Hall, surrounding a tent sporting the logo of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.

SFMTA Director of Transportation Ed Reiskin was among the speakers who rode in to the event.

Hope you stopped by an “energizer station” in time to get this year’s Bike to Work Day tote bag.
