Special performances will be presented by some of San Francisco's favorite arts organizations. The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square will be open from Nov. 1 through Jan.15.

Muni Service Note: There are no planned reroutes but Muni Metro, the Powell Cable Car lines, and the 2, 3, 8, 27, 30, 38/38R, and 45 could see possible increases in ridership for this event.

Golden Gate Half Marathon and 5K

Saturday and Sunday, Various Times
Aquatic Park

Take a casual jog this weekend in the annual Golden Gate Half Marathon and 5K beginning at Aquatic Park between the Marina and Fisherman's Wharf. The 13.1 mile run begins along the San Francisco Bay shore with its views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge before moving through the Marina and Presidio toward the bridge itself. Runners will run the length of the area's most recognizable icon before turning back to traverse the Golden Gate Promenade to Fort Point. The race will conclude at Marina Green with a Finish Line Wine Festival available to the first 500 participants who opt into it during race registration.

How to Get There on Muni: Race participants and spectators alike may take the F Market and Wharves Line, as well as the 19 Polk, 28 19th Ave., 30 Stockton, 47 Van Ness, and the 49 Van Ness/Mission routes close to the starting line.

Muni Service Note: The 28, 30, 47 and 49 will have reroutes. The F Market and Wharves Line and 19 Polk may see crowding and minor service delays due to possible increased ridership.

Reminder: J Church Stop Changes at Balboa Park

Due to construction for the Balboa Park Station Area and Plaza Improvement Project, the J Church Line will continue to serve alternate stops on San Jose Avenue until the fall. For details, please visit our Green Light Rail Center Track Replacement Project page.
