Our 2026 Muni Holiday Sweater is here! And we’ve got sizes available for the whole family.
The holidays are right around the corner, and you’ll be able to count on at least two things this year. First, Muni will get you wherever you need to go all season long. And second, you can dress festively to impress with the 2026 Muni Holiday Sweater.
The holiday season means something different for everyone. For us, it’s a time to celebrate San Francisco and more than a century of Muni service. Our new sweater is part of that celebration.

A cozy, high-quality knit for 2026
This collectible holiday piece was created by SFMTA Graphic Designer Anton Belov. It’s the third holiday sweater or pullover we’ve offered. And the new design weaves different Muni eras together alongside hallmarks of San Francisco.
It includes callbacks to Muni’s fleet, “and some of the elements that make San Francisco and the Bay Area what it is,” Belov explained.
The sweater’s color palette is inspired by Muni’s green and cream livery. That’s the paint scheme we used on our buses and streetcars from 1946 until 1969. The sweater also features the iconic Muni worm and some of our vehicles, including the beloved cable car. And there are San Francisco touches, as well, such as sailboats and shoreline waves.
Belov grew up in the city and took Muni to school from junior high through college. His relationship with the system made this project more meaningful. “It created an opportunity for me to make something that I would want to wear,” he said. “And that, hopefully, other people would want to wear, as well.”

Creating community one sweater at a time
We produced our first Muni holiday sweater in 2024 and opened our online Muni Store later that year. And one thing we have learned is that clothing and other merchandise can bring people together. That connection is something Belov hopes the new sweater will continue to promote.
“Maybe people will strike up a conversation with strangers if they're wearing the same sweater,” he said. “It’d just be so fun to see a sea of people wearing this green and cream sweater out in the streets.”
And even if the new sweater doesn’t lead to new friendships, it is a way to express civic pride and an appreciation for public transit.
“There's always a hunger for people to wear merch that comes from Muni,” Belov said. “It's such a well-loved brand and so recognizable that people want to show it off as much as possible.”

Where to get your sweater
The 2026 Muni Holiday Sweater is available for preorder now at the Muni Store. You also will be able to find a limited number at our brick-and-mortar partner, the Market Street Railway Museum. The sweater will be in stock there once the season gets underway.
