Shared Mobility Response Type

In order to ensure that scooters are not cluttering the sidewalk and causing an impediment to older adults, people with disabilities and other pedestrians, SFMTA, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office on Disability, has established clear parking requirementsThe fine amount per citation for improperly parked scooter was $100 from July 2021 through February 2022, and increased in March 2022 to $150. SFMTA Investigators issue both warnings and citations for improperly parked devices. Additionally, the Scooter Share Permit Terms and Conditions require that improperly parked scooters shall be either re-parked in the correct manner or shall be removed by the scooter share operator within two hours. The dashboards linked below track the average response times for all requests from SFMTA to correct improperly parked scooters, the average response time per month for each permittee, and the type of response. These response dashboards have been made public in a continuing effort to provide transparency to the public regarding accountability of Scooter Share operators. This tracking feature has been in effect since November 2020.
