Celebrate Transit Month with Read & Ride, a collaboration between Muni and the San Francisco Public Library. Read & Ride kicks off September 1, 2026 and runs throughout September. Riders of all ages are invited to enjoy a good book while riding Muni.

Ready to Read & Ride?
There are three easy steps to complete the Read & Ride challenge:
- Sign up on Beanstack
Join the Read & Ride challenge through the San Francisco Public Library’s Beanstack platform.
- Read while you ride
Throughout September, read a book or listen to an audiobook while riding Muni. All ages and reading levels are welcome!
- Log 10 hours
Track your reading time in Beanstack. Once you reach 10 hours, you’ll complete the challenge and earn a limited-edition Read & Ride bookmark.
