May 2026 Update
Paving of Winston Drive and pedestrian improvements to shorten crossings at Lake Merced Boulevard are complete. Paint work is substantially complete.
Construction of the two transit boarding islands and other concrete elements will begin by late May. Following that work, posts will be added to the separated bikeway and the traffic signal will be modified to create a connection between the new bikeway on Winston Drive and the bike path around Lake Merced. Signal work is anticipated to begin this summer.
Our goal is to complete all work on the two-way bikeway and the transit boarding islands by the start of the school year in mid-August 2026.
