Aug
27
Tuesday, August 27, 2019 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Join project team members from Public Works, SFMTA and SF Planning on Tuesday, August 27, 6:30-7:30 p.m., at Sanchez Elementary School, 325 Sanchez Street. We’ll be discussing proposed changes to Market Street east of Octavia designed to enhance safety for everyone, including two design options for the intersection of Market and Van Ness.

Let us know you’re coming! RSVP to bettermarketstreet@sfdpw.org

Better Market Street is the City’s multi-agency project to transform 2.2 miles of Market Street – from Octavia Boulevard to Steuart Street – improving safety and accessibility, providing more reliable and efficient transit service and enhancing shared public spaces.

The project proposes private vehicle restrictions along Market Street. The Draft Environmental Impact Report for Better Market Street (released February 27, 2019, with a comment period through April 15, 2019) includes a design alternative for Market Street between Hayes and Gough streets that would introduce additional restrictions for private and commercial vehicles.

The project is scheduled to break ground on its first phase, Market Street between Fifth and Eighth streets, in summer 2020.
