Chinatown Construction

Portsmouth Square

As part of the Portsmouth Square project, the demolition of the Kearny Street pedestrian bridge will require the closure of Kearny Street between Clay and Washington Streets in August 2026.

Chinatown Public Health Center

As part of the Chinatown Public Health Center Improvement Project, the Broadway Tunnels will see significant traffic impacts for approximately 14 months. The Broadway Tunnel is scheduled to be fully closed (one day) from 7 a.m., Sunday. August 16, through 5 a.m., Monday, August 17, then one traffic direction at a time will be closed for approximately 7 months each, with one lane in each direction in the open bore.

Chinatown Branch Library

As part of the Chinatown Branch Library Renovation Project, traffic will be impacted on Powell Street.
