Brand New Taxi Stands - Golden Gate Park @Music Concourse
Please be advised that two new Taxi Stands have been installed inside Golden Gate Park on the Music Concourse. There is one stand near the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum (on Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr.) and one stand near the California Academy of Sciences (on Music Concourse Dr.). These two stands allow Taxis to serve this popular destination, which includes the de Young, the Cal Academy, the Japanese Tea Garden and the SkyStar Wheel.
The two stands are in front of the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences and are each approximately 3 car lengths. The taxi stands are 24/7 taxis only. The Academy of Sciences stand has curb cuts both in front and behind the stand to facilitate wheelchair accessible trips. The taxi stand in front of the de Young has a curb cut in front of the stand, and staff are investigating adding a second one to the rear.
These stands may be accessed from the south via Martin Luther King Drive and from the north via the Music Concourse Garage at 10th Avenue and Fulton. Please read on for detailed instructions about using the taxi stands in the park.

How to Access the Taxi Stands from the north:
Taxis may access the Taxi Stands via the Music Concourse Garage.
- Entrance on 10th and Fulton (A on Map)
- To access the taxi stands from the north side of the park near Fulton Street, enter the Music Concourse Parking garage at 10th Avenue
- Press button to receive a ticket to enter the lot
- After grabbing a ticket, proceed through the parking garage to the opposite entrance in the Music Concourse at Music Concourse Drive
- Insert ticket to exit, free of charge for the first 15 minutes
Please note that if you are in the garage less than 15 minutes, the entrance and exit are free. SFMTA is directing other vehicles to the garage for pick-ups and drop-offs, but taxis should continue through to the other side (for free) to access the taxi stands and then to access Fulton Street again leaving the concourse. Do not use the 8th Avenue entrance for Muni buses that crosses JFK Drive to access the Music Concourse.

Take a right onto Music Concourse Drive to access the two taxi stands in the Music Concourse.
To exit the Music Concourse to Fulton St, complete the same process in reverse by entering the garage at MLK Jr Dr and exit via 10th Street.

Staff are excited to let you know about these new stands that improve disabled access and taxi access to the park. Please note, taxis are allowed to drop off in Golden Gate Park wherever legal but are only allowed to pick up in the park at the taxi stands or if a phone or E-hail dispatch pick-up from the park is received. Do not attempt to serve street hails anywhere in the park except the taxi stands.
