Forbearance of Taxi Driver Renewal Fees Notice 5.19.2020

In response to the impact of the COVID-19 virus on the San Francisco Taxi industry, SFMTA will forbear (postpone) the collection of Driver Permit renewal fees during the duration of the Shelter in Place Order currently in effect in San Francisco. Taxi Services has requested the waiver of all taxi fees, and that proposal is part of the SFMTA budget process which is still underway. If approved, the A-Card renewal fees will be waived for the remainder of the current fiscal year (until June 30, 2020) and for the next two years of SFMTA’s budget cycle. Drug testing is a federal requirement and is still required for A-Card renewal, and labs are accepting drivers.  Drivers can contact sftaxi@sfmta.com for a list of active labs.
