Implementation of SFMTA Pickup Policy Changed in SFO 2020.11.12

Beginning on Tuesday, December 1st 2020, the SFMTA has directed that only Purchased medallion taxis and Ramp taxis are permitted to pick up at SFO. To avoid the potential for initial shortages on December 1st, SFO will be slowly increasing the default “medallion ratio” between now and December 1st.

Beginning on Monday, November 16, the standard ratio will be 4 P to 1 K
Beginning on Wednesday, November 18, the standard ratio will be 5 P to 1 K
Beginning on Monday, November 23, the standard ratio will be 6 P to 1 K

The ratio will still vary up and down depending on the number of P taxis available (or not available) in the lot. If there are not enough P medallions at SFO, the ratio will be lower.

We are making these changes in advance to be sure that there is no risk of shortage on or immediately after December 1st.
