TO: San Francisco Taxi Drivers

Due to reduced shortages late at night and low participation in the nighttime program by K taxis, the temporary program allowing Ks greater access to SFO on certain nights will not be continued into July. Additionally, the policy allowing taxis to arrive without a reservation on certain nights after midnight will not be continued.

K and T taxis may only come to SFO when a specific need for additional cabs is announced. SFO will call taxi dispatch centers to alert the industry when K and T cabs are authorized, and for how long.

Additionally, taxi drivers may join Curbside Management’s new Telegram App notification group. This telegram group will provide the same information that is called in to taxi dispatch centers: when K and T taxis are authorized at SFO due to a shortage, and for how long. Participation is optional and taxi drivers can continue to get this information through radio announcements from their dispatch centers if they prefer.

Please contact the curbside management office at 650.821.2700 with any questions or for assistance with the Telegram group.
