Taxi Virtual Queue App Testing

Between November 8th and November 17th, certain taxis will be assisting SFO in testing the new TaxiVQ app. This new app will create a “virtual queue” which will eventually allow all qualified drivers to wait in line for an SFO pickup virtually, meaning you won’t have to be at SFO while you wait. For example, you will be able to go eat, take fares in the city or visit a religious center while waiting your turn to pick up. During the test period, you will see some cabs using the short line more often, after waiting off-site for their turn to be called by the “virtual queue”. Please rest assured that these volunteer taxis are being closed monitored by our teams during the test period and we will be doing our best to ensure that these drivers are not being given an advantage over taxis which are not part of the test. Unless we have contacted you directly with special instructions, you do not need to take any special actions during the test period.
