To San Francisco Taxi Drivers

Taxis are essential and can continue to operate during curfew hours. Please help us stop the spread of COVID and make travelers confident in using Taxis again. Taxi drivers MUST:

1. Sanitize your taxi before each passenger trip. Sanitizing materials are available from lot dispatcher.
2. Wear a mask at all times, especially when interacting with others. Maintain 6 feet of space.

If eating, drinking or smoking while in the SFO holding lot:

  • Move to a well ventilated part of the holding lot (for smoking, use designated area)
  • Stay as far from other people as possible and never closer than 6 feet from others
  • Use picnic tables two at a time, with a 15 minute time limit
  • Remove your mask for as short a time as possible
  • Do not remove mask inside your taxi, even when alone- this puts customers at risk

Failure to adhere to these COVID safety rules will lead to suspension of Airport pickup privileges and, in certain cases, a monetary fine.

The old taxi short app will be discontinued on Monday, December 14.
A new taxi short app is available in the Apple and Google app stores. All taxi drivers must:

1. Delete the old Taxi Q app currently on your phone
2. Go to the app store to download the new app:

Apple/iPhone Download:
1. Open App Store application
2. Click on the Search tab (bottom right)
3. Search for New SFO TaxiQ
4. Click on the UPDATE or GET button next to the New SFO TaxiQ application

Google/Android Download:
1. Open Play Store application
2. Click/tap on Search for apps and games (top of screen)
3. Search for New SFO TaxiQ
4. Click on the UPDATE or INSTALL button next to the New SFO TaxiQ application

Drivers who downloaded the new app last month still need to use the steps above.
You must do this by Monday, December 14, 2020 to continue claiming valid shorts at SFO.
Please contact the curbside management office at 650-821-2700 for basic support questions.
