US 101 Northbound Overnight Closure on 6.12.2022

Caltrans is planning a full closure of Northbound Highway 101 from Millbrae Avenue to San Bruno Avenue on Sunday, June 12th, from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM. This section of Highway 101 needs to be closed to allow construction crews to safely install overhead signs above the freeway lanes. The work is part of the San Mateo 101 Express Lanes Project which will reduce traffic congestion, encourage transit use and carpooling on Highway 101 in San Mateo County.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to exit the freeway at the Millbrae Avenue Off-Ramp. Detour signs will be in place to clearly guide them to use El Camino Real onto I-380 to continue Northbound on 101. Motorists heading towards the Airport will be detoured to South McDonnell Road. The detour map below provides the exact detour route. Taxi drivers are advised to be familiar with the proposed detour route and allow extra travel time. Southbound traffic will be unaffected.
