City Vehicle Parking Permits
City Parking Permits are available for use when performing official City business
In accordance with Section 910 of the San Francisco Transportation Code, any city-owned or personal vehicle parked at a meter on official city business is required to display a valid San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) issued permit or deposit sufficient funds into the meter for the time required. A properly displayed permit allows exemptions from payment at parking meters only. All other parking is subject to current parking regulations, including time limits at meters and in residential areas.
Department of Public Health (DPH) permits are exempt from meter payment, time limits, and RPP restrictions.
The following vehicles are exempt from the permit requirement; however, time limits still apply:
- Marked San Francisco Police and Fire Department vehicles; and
- Pick-up trucks and panel vans used for maintenance purposes.
Permit Cost: $3,900 ($4,160 effective July, 1 2023)
