8 Bayshore: Visitacion Valley Stop Improvements Approved
At the March 17, 2026 San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Board of Directors meeting, the board voted to approve the 8 Bayshore: Visitacion Valley Stop Improvements Project. This milestone follows extensive community outreach.
The approved improvements include upgrading several stops in the Sunnydale and Visitacion Valley neighborhoods with new transit bulbs and a transit boarding island. These improvements will help achieve the goals of improving transit access, safety and reliability along the corridor.
The project team will begin preparing for implementation, including detailed design and construction planning. We anticipate that construction may begin in mid-2027. We will continue to keep you informed about next steps, timelines, and any anticipated impacts.
