As you may have seen in our previous update, the SFMTA Board of Directors approved the Hayes Valley Pay or Permit Parking Expansion on June 2, 2026. The project remains on schedule to be implemented in early 2027.
Since approval, we’ve been working on:
- Developing the discount programs
- Surveying the blocks in Hayes Valley
- Redesigning the Pay or Permit Parking signs
The new parking signs incorporate feedback received from the public this spring and have been installed for testing at:
- Rose Street (between Market and Octavia)
- Linden and Fell Streets just west of Patricia’s Green (between Octavia and Laguna)
You may have already seen these signs in your neighborhood!
Please note: These new signs don’t change any existing regulations, they have been installed on blocks that already have Pay or Permit Parking. We hope they make it easier for drivers to understand how to park.
