Van Ness Avenue Construction Forecast: February 25 - March 9, 2018

Tentative Schedule:

Sunday, February 25: Between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise and vibrations as crews work diligently to complete this necessary night work. Between Ellis and O’Farrell crews are scheduled for saw cutting to prepare for sewer work there. To confirm underground utilities at Geary crews will be potholing. Due to sewer installation work at the intersection of McAllister, intensive noise and vibration is expected.

Monday, February 26 through Friday, March 2: Crews plan to be working on a joint trench to power overhead wires for buses from Eddy to Ellis and Geary to Post. Crews are scheduled to pot hole from Golden Gate to Bush to confirm underground utilities for upcoming sewer work. Additionally, water main installation is scheduled to occur from from Golden Gate to Eddy. Crews are scheduled to work on sewer installation from McAllister to Geary. Due to sewer installation work, intensive noise and vibration is expected from Turk to Eddy.

Crews are scheduled to pothole to confirm underground utilities for upcoming sewer work from Golden Gate to Bush and at Vallejo street. Crews are scheduled to work on sewer installation from McAllister to Geary. Due to sewer installation work, intensive noise and vibration is expected from at the intersection of McAllister, and from Green to Union.

Monday, March 5 and Tuesday, March 6:  Crews plan to be working on a joint trench to power overhead wires for buses from Geary to Post. Crews are also scheduled to pothole to confirmunderground utilities for upcoming sewer work from Golden Gate to Bush. Additionally, water main installation is scheduled to occur from from Turk to Eddy. Permitted sidewalk tree removal is planned to occur from Broadway to Vallejo and from Union to Chestnut.

Between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., crews are scheduled to pothole to determine underground utility alignments for upcoming sewer work from Golden Gate to Bush, from Pacific to Green, and from Lombard to Chestnut. Sewer main is expected to continue being installed in the intersection  at Turk. Neighbors are advised to anticipate intensive construction-related noise and vibrations, including saw cutting and pile driving, as crews work diligently to complete this necessary night work.

Before utility, roadway and sidewalk work begins, the Van Ness Improvement Project team is inspecting Van Ness Avenue basements that may extend below sidewalks.
