Van Ness Improvement Project Construction Forecast: February 7 - February 18, 2022

Service Affected

Those traveling on the corridor are advised to stay alert and allow more travel time during construction. Polk Street, one block east of Van Ness Avenue, is a recommended alternative for people traveling by bicycle in the area.

We are now conducting testing to get service on the new Bus Rapid Transit corridor running in early 2022.  It is illegal to bike, skateboard or otherwise traveling the red transit lanes on Van Ness Avenue.

Construction along Van Ness Avenue has been significantly reduced as crews work to finish the project. Therefore, this forecast will now be published every two weeks.

Please do not park on sidewalks or in live traffic lanes. This is dangerous and may result in citations.

The following Van Ness Improvement Project construction forecast is subject to change. In the next two weeks, crews are scheduled to work on traffic improvements, overhead power installations, traffic signal wiring & hardware installation, light pole setting, median island furnishings, sidewalk flatwork and related work at the following locations. For more project details, please visit the Van Ness Improvement Project webpage (SFMTA.com/VanNess).
