Detailed accounts of recent major system delays. We apologize if you were inconvenienced by any of these delays and thank you for riding Muni. Incidents are posted on this page no earlier than the following regular business day.

Wednesday, February 28

  • From 1:55 to 3:25 p.m., the Powell Hyde Cable Car Line was delayed at Filbert and Hyde streets due to a mechanical issue. Bus shuttles provided line service.
  • From 1:53 to 3:11 p.m., due to fire department activity on Mission Street between 18th and 19th streets, the 14 Mission, 14R Mission Rapid, and 49 Van Ness/Mission routes were routed around the area in both directions.
  • From 12:07 to 5:00 p.m., due to protest activity on Sansome Street between Washington and Pacific streets, the 10 Townsend and 12 Folsom/Pacific routes were routed around the area in both directions as were the northbound 30X Marina Express and 41 Union routes.
  • From 12:58 to 1:35 a.m., outbound subway service was delayed by a train with a mechanical issue at Embarcadero Station.

Tuesday, February 27

  • From 7:17 to 7:57 a.m., the M Ocean View Line was delayed in both directions at San Jose and Niagara avenues due to a Muni-involved collision. Southbound M trains switched back at Broad and Plymouth streets. Bus shuttles supported line service.

Sunday, February 25

  • From 11:06 to 11:43 p.m., the M Ocean View Line was blocked in both directions at Randolph and Bright streets due to fire department activity. Southbound M trains switched back at 19th and Holloway streets. Bus shuttles supported line service.
  • From 9:29 to 10:43 p.m., the F Market and Wharves Line was blocked at Market and 16th streets by a non Muni collision. Westbound F streetcars switched back at Market and 11th streets.

Saturday, February 24

  • From 8:09 to 8:45 a.m., the northbound 12 Folsom/Pacific Route was routed around Folsom and Fifth streets due to a non Muni collision.

Thursday, February 22

  • From 6:51 to 7:27 a.m., the 9 San Bruno, 9R San Bruno Rapid, and 24 Divisadero routes were routed around Bayshore Boulevard and Industrial Street in both directions due to a non Muni collision.

Monday, February 19

  • From 11:05 a.m. to 6:10 p.m., the 21 Hayes and 22 Fillmore routes were rerouted in both directions around the area of Hayes Street between Steiner and Fillmore streets due to fire department activity.

Sunday, February 18

  • From 10:46 to 11:16 a.m., the Powell-Mason Cable Car Line was down in both directions due to a cable issue. A bus shuttle supported line service.

Saturday, February 17

  • From 8:08 to 9:10 p.m., the Powell-Hyde Cable Car Line was delayed in both directions due to an equipment issue at Jackson and Mason streets. Powell-Hyde cable cars rerouted over the Powell-Mason Cable Car Line. Bus shuttles supported line service.

Friday, February 16

  • From 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., the N Judah Line was blocked in both directions on Irving Street between 7th and 8th avenues due to fire department activity. Eastbound N trains switched back at Judah Street and 19th Avenue, westbound N trains switched back at Carl Street and Hillway Avenue. Bus shuttles supported line service.

Thursday, February 15

  • From 5:36 to 6:15 a.m., the 19 Polk Route was rerouted in both directions around the area of Evans Avenue and Cesar Chavez Street due to a downed PG&E power line.

Wednesday, February 14

  • From 11:45 a.m. through the end of service, due to a system issue between Van Ness and Church stations, the eastbound N Judah and northbound J Church lines were switched back at Church Street and Duboce Avenue. Bus shuttles supported service on the N and J lines. All outbound Muni Metro subway service experienced slow moving service between Embarcadero and West Portal stations.
  • From the start of service to 6:20 a.m., Muni Metro subway service experienced slow moving service in both direction at West Portal Station due to a system issue.

Monday, February 12

  • From 12:31 to 1:08 p.m., the southbound 22 Fillmore Route was rerouted around the area of Fillmore Street between Grove and Hayes streets due to a downed tree on the overhead wire.

Saturday, February 10

  • From 12:14 to 1:07 p.m., the westbound F Market and Wharves Line was delayed due to a stalled streetcar at Market and Dolores streets. Westbound F streetcars switched back at Market and 11th streets. Bus shuttles supported line service.
  • From 1:39 to 3:22 p.m., the northbound F Market and Wharves Line was delayed due to a streetcar with a mechanical issue at the Embarcadero and Green Street. Eastbound F streetcars switched back at Ferry Plaza. Bus shuttles supported line service.
  • From 6:53 to 7:46 p.m., the westbound N Judah Line was delayed at Judah Street and 11th Avenue by a Muni-involved collision. Eastbound N trains switched back at Judah Street and 19th Avenue, eastbound trains switched back at Carl Street and Hillway Avenue. Bus shuttles supported line service.

Friday, February 9

  • From the start of service to 7:20 a.m., Muni Metro subway service was delayed in both directions due to a subway system issue. All lines switched back on the surface as necessary. Bus shuttles supported service on all Metro lines.

Thursday, February 8

  • From 5:48 to 6:33 p.m., the N Judah, T Third, and E Embarcadero lines were delayed on The Embarcadero at Harrison Street by a Muni involved collision. Inbound N and select inbound T trains were switched back at Embarcadero Station. Northbound T trains were switched back at Fourth and Channel streets. Bus shuttles supported line service.

Wednesday, February 7

  • From 9:50 p.m. to 3:25 a.m. Thursday, the 9 San Bruno Route was route around Santos Street and Brookdale Avenue due to a downed tree.
  • From 7:40 to 9:40 p.m., the Powell Cable Car Line was down due to a mechanical issue with the turntable at Market and Powell streets. Bus shuttles provided line service.

Tuesday, February 6

  • From 1:14 to 1:50 p.m., due to downed overhead wire at Fillmore and Jackson streets, the northbound 24 Divisadero Route switched back at Fillmore and Sutter streets.
  • From 9:40 to 10:14 a.m., the eastbound 1 California Route was blocked at Clay and Polk streets by fire department activity. Eastbound coaches switched back at Sacramento and Fillmore streets. Westbound coaches switched back at Clay and Stockton streets. Bus shuttles supported line service.

Monday, February 5

  • From 12:09 to 12:40 a.m., the southbound J Church Line was blocked at Church and 17th streets by emergency vehicles.

Friday, February 2

  • From 9:12 to 10:54 a.m., the 5R Fulton Rapid route was routed around McAllister and Fillmore streets in both directions due to construction.
  • From 9:11 to 10:34 p.m., the 5 Fulton route was routed around Fulton Street and 33rd Avenue in both directions due to a non Muni collision.

Thursday, February 1

  • From 11:18 to 11:49 p.m., the eastbound 38 Geary Route was routed around O'Farrell and Hyde streets due to police activity.
  • From 1:30 to 2:06 p.m., due to police activity at Fillmore and Hermann streets, the northbound 22 Fillmore Route was switched back at 16th and Mission streets while southbound 22 coaches switched back at Fillmore and McAllister streets.
  • From 12:01 to 7:15 p.m., the 6 Haight/Parnassus and 7 Haight/Noriega routes were rerouted  around the area of Haight Street between Buchanan and Laguna streets in both directions due to police activity.
