Fleet Week Concert in the Castro: October 6, 2022

On November 7, 2021, the Navy launched and christened a new fueling vessel in honor of Harvey Milk. Milk served in the Navy from 1951-1955 before being dishonorably discharged due to his sexual orientation. The dedication of the ship named in his honor acknowledges the past failings of the Navy towards LGBTQ service members and shows a commitment to current and future LGBTQ service members. There will be a dedication celebration in Jane Warner Plaza on Thursday, October 6, from 5 to 6 p.m.. The F Market and Wharves Line terminal will be closed from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. See below for additional service details.
