Event Summary

Super Bowl Experience will take place from February 3-7, 2026 at the Moscone Center. There will be street closures and traffic detours in the areas surrounding Union Square and in SoMa near the Moscone Center from Friday, Jan. 30 through early morning Tuesday, February 10, Howard, Mission, and 4th streets will experience rolling street closures. Local access and Muni service will be maintained.

If you are traveling in San Francisco during Super Bowl week, you should expect congestion, traffic, and transit delays. Please give yourself extra time for travel.

Street Closures

There will be numerous street closures and traffic restrictions during the lead-up to Super Bowl Week. Continue reading below for summaries of all planned street closures to help with trip planning needs.

SoMa Closures

The following streets will be closed from 6 a.m. Friday, January 30, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 10:

  • Howard Street between 3rd and 4th and the southern-most travel lane and south parking lane between Hawthorne and 3rd
  • Folsom Street (northern-most travel lane and north parking lane) between Mabini and 3rd
  • 3rd Street (two western-most parking or travel lanes) between Harrison and Stevenson
  • 4th Street (two eastern-most parking or travel lanes) between Market and Folsom
  • Jessie East Street between Mission and Jessie
  • Jessie Street between Jessie East and 4th streets

The following streets will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, January 31, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 10 (Muni and local access will be allowed on 4th Street during the closure hours):

  • 4th Street (two western-most right turn lanes) between Minna and Howard
  • Minna Street between 4th Street and the InterContinental driveway
  • Howard Street (north parking lane) between 4th and 5th

The following streets will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, January 31, to Sunday, February 8 (Muni and local access will be allowed on 4th Street during the closure hours):

  • 4th Street between Market and Howard
  • Howard Street between 4th and 5th
    • Local access maintained from 5th Street at Howard

The following street will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday, February 2, to Sunday, February 8:

  • Mission Street between 3rd and 5th
    • Local access maintained from 5th Street at Mission

The following street will be closed from 10 a.m. Thursday, February 5, to 2 p.m. Monday, February 9:

  • Minna Street between New Montgomery and 3rd
    • Local access maintained from New Montgomery

The following street will be closed from 8 a.m. Friday, February 6, to 2 p.m. Monday, February 9:

  • Jessie Street between New Montgomery and Annie

Along with the street closures, there will be several other traffic detours and restrictions during the event.

  • Southbound travel restricted daily January 31 - February 8
    • Stockton at Post
    • Stockton at O'Farrell
  • Local access only January 31 - February 8
    • Ellis between Stockton and Cyril Magnin
    • Stockton between Post and Ellis
  • Local access accommodated via a temporary Howard Street eastbound lane accessed from northbound 5th Street, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, January 31 - February 8
    • Howard between 4th and 5th streets
    • 4th St between Howard and Folsom
  • Local access only January 31 - February 10
    • Minna between 4th and 5th streets
  • Local access only February 2 - 8
    • Mission between 4th and 5th streets
  • Local access only February 5-9
    • Minna between 3rd Street and New Montgomery
  • Local access only February 6-9
    • Jessie and Jessie East between Mission and 4th Street

Taxi Zones

There will be taxi zones in place for the Super Bowl Experience. Locations, dates and times are provided below:

  • 653 Market Street, northbound, between Annie and New Montgomery streets from 8 a.m. Friday, February 6, through 2 p.m. Monday, February 9.
  • 833 Market Street, northbound, between Fourth and Fifth streets from 10 p.m. Sunday, February 1, through 6 a.m. Monday, February 9.

Muni Service Impacts

There are no planned service changes for Muni routes that operate in the area of the SoMa or Union Square. There may be some minor delays, however, due to crowds and/or increased traffic in the areas of the events, so plan a little extra time into any travel plans as a precaution.

Extra Muni Subway Service

  • There will be extra shuttle train service between West Portal and Embarcadero stations:
    • Tuesday, Feb. 3, and Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 3 to 11 p.m.
    • Thursday, Feb. 5, to Saturday, Feb. 7, from 3 p.m. to midnight
  • There will be extra shuttle train service in the Central Subway between Chinatown Station and Mission Bay:
    • Tuesday, Feb. 3, and Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 3 to 11 p.m.
  • There will be extra shuttle train service in the Central Subway between Chinatown Station and Third & Marin streets:
    • Thursday, Feb. 5, from 3 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
    • Friday, Feb. 6, from 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
    • Saturday, Feb. 7,  from 3 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. (2 car trains on K Ingleside and M Ocean View Lines)
