Video: Muni Testing Underway at the New Salesforce Transit Center

Monday, December 11, 2017

We’re out and about, and we’re testing a variety of our coaches for service at the new Salesforce Transit Terminal. The new Transbay Transit Center will replace the former Transbay Terminal in downtown San Francisco with a modern transit hub. Extending just south of Mission Street from Second to Beale Streets, the Transit Center will connect eight Bay Area counties and the State of California through 11 transportation systems: Muni, AC Transit, BART, Caltrain, Golden Gate Transit, SamTrans, Greyhound, WestCAT Lynx, Amtrak, Paratransit and California’s future High Speed Rail from San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim.

We’re getting closer to running Muni service through. This past week, Muni and the new Salesforce Transit Center hit a major milestone—the #5 Fulton had the honor of being the first bus to roll through as we conduct testing. This visionary project is already transforming the neighborhood, helping the economy, and supporting smart growth and mass transit. Check out the video here:
