The SFMTA has made updates to the Hayes Valley Parking and Curb Management Plan. This plan's goals are to alleviate parking issues in the community, improve safety along the busy Hayes Street corridor, and support small businesses by promoting parking turnover.
The proposal has three primary components:
- A new, expanded RPP area separate from larger existing areas that has its own set of regulations to promote parking availability
- New street regulations to provide flexibility to visitors to the neighborhood
- Additional loading zones along Hayes Street to prevent double-parking and giving cars and delivery vehicles to safely load and unload
