Ride Muni Free New Year’s Eve (Revised)

For the 17th consecutive year, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) will offer free rides on New Year’s Eve from 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 31 through 5 a.m. on Sunday, January 1.

“We want all San Francisco residents and visitors to have a happy and safe New Year. As we all celebrate the new year, the SFMTA is providing free Muni rides so everyone can enjoy themselves around the city and get home safely,” said Ed Reiskin, SFMTA Director of Transportation.

This year’s Ride Muni Free New Year’s Eve is sponsored by 76.

“76® is proud to continue our sponsorship of SFMTA for Ride Muni Free on New Year's Eve for the 17th consecutive year.  While 76 is on the driver’s side, we want you to ring in the new year safely by being a passenger instead. Happy Holidays,” said Bree Januhowski, 76 brand director.

Ride Muni Free New Year’s Eve includes all Muni lines and routes. All information, including schedules and stops, will be posted on www.sfmta.com/nye. In line with Vision Zero, the city’s policy to eliminate all traffic fatalities by 2024, San Franciscans—drivers, pedestrians, and transit riders—should be able to get to their destination safely.
