Operator Appreciation Day

Today is National Transit Driver Appreciation Day! We are thrilled to have this day to acknowledge the dedicated professionals who play a vitally important role in our city helping us Muni customers get where we need to go.

Our transit operators carry more than 720,000 riders daily, navigating San Francisco’s challenging terrain and unpredictable city traffic, persevering through rain, smoke and fog. Whether it’s getting to work, school, a doctor’s appointment, a movie, or across town to visit a friend or family member, we all rely on Muni and these special individuals who operate our unique fleet of vehicles to get us there safely and without incident.

You may have seen SFMTA employees and members of the San Francisco Transit Riders Union out and about handing out ‘THANK YOU’ stickers and cards to pass on to operators. We’re thankful for our team of transit operators who move this city day in and day out.

It’s not too late to show your appreciation - a simple thank you and a smile go a long way. You can also fill out a 311 Commendation Form to show your support. For more information on the national celebration, visit http://transitdriverday.org/.
