Erin McAuliff serves as the Acting Director of Accessible Services at the SFMTA. In this role, Erin spearheads accessibility initiatives across the agency’s fixed route system and provides oversight for the San Francisco Paratransit program, which provides over 500,000 trips for older adults and people with disabilities every year. In addition to these key responsibilities, Erin guides a dedicated team that manages the Regional Transit Card Discount ID office and an expert group of Access Planners responsible for championing accessible design in the agency’s policies and capital projects, which encompass transit, bicycles, shared and emerging mobility, parking, and pedestrian access.

Erin's commitment to intersectional equity and inclusion is underscored by her participation as a 2019 San Francisco cohort member of the Government Alliance on Race and Equity and as a member of the SFMTA's inaugural Racial Equity Action Plan team.  Beyond her professional responsibilities, Erin is deeply committed to advancing the field of equitable transportation through volunteer leadership roles. She serves as a committee member of the Transportation Research Board's Standing Committee on Rural, Intercity Bus, and Specialized Transportation and is the Chair of its Paratransit Subcommittee. She is also an active board member of the San Francisco chapter of WTS, an organization dedicated to the advancement of women in transportation.

Prior to joining the SFMTA in 2018, Erin served as a Senior Transportation Planner at the Marin County Transit District and worked on program development and policy analysis for non-profit organizations, including SPUR, the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, and the Coalition for Smarter Growth (Washington, DC). Erin holds a BA in Criminal Justice from the George Washington University and a Masters in Urban Planning from City University of New York – Hunter College.
