Golden Gate Park Access and Safety Program: Virtual Information Session 1

Sep
30
Thursday, September 30, 2021 - 3:00pm

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department (RPD) and the SFMTA have jointly launched the Golden Gate Park Access and Safety Program, an effort to determine the future of bike and pedestrian priority routes in Golden Gate Park. During 2020, when the pandemic brought about a need for increased options for biking, walking, and recreating outside at a safe distance, RPD and SFMTA established a cross-park route dedicated for cycling and pedestrian activity, with limited vehicle access.

As the city moves out of the pandemic emergency, RPD and SFMTA are collaborating on a proposal for the future of the cross-park route that will go before the Board of Supervisors before the end of 2021. The proposal will be informed by ongoing technical analysis along with public input.

Join RPD and SFMTA for this virtual information session to learn about the potential options for the post-pandemic cycling and pedestrian routes through GGP, and to provide feedback on the future of the park.

The information session will consist of a presentation by SFMTA staff, followed by a Q&A/feedback session. Additionally, attendees can view details of the potential options for the park and offer feedback in an interactive online StoryMap. The StoryMap will remain open until November 25.

An additional virtual information session will be held on:

October 3, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

For more information and to visit the StoryMap, visit the Golden Gate Park Access and Safety Program project page.
