Come explore 120 years of transportation history from the SFMTA Photography Department & Archive at the Harvey Milk Photo Center. Exhibit runs December 16, 2023 to February 3, 2024.

From 1903 to present, a series of photographers have documented public transit in San Francisco. Along with it, they have captured the growth, struggles, and changes to our transportation system and how people move around our city. The selection of stunning images on display is just a fraction of more than 100,000 historic and contemporary images spanning 12 decades.  Immerse yourself in beautiful black and white and color prints showing not only important historical events but everyday scenes captured through the lens of these photographers.
