The L Taraval Rapid Project includes pedestrian safety and transit priority proposals that will make it safer for people walking, and increase the reliability of Muni. A suite of improvements are proposed along Taraval St, including:

• New or extended boarding islands and sidewalk extensions to improve safety for people walking and waiting for Muni
• New traffic signals and transit-only lanes to reduce Muni delay
• Consolidating stops to improve route reliability
• Replacing the tracks, worn overhead wire and trolley poles along the L Taraval surface route to provide a smoother, quieter, more comfortable ride
