Mike Fernandez is the acting Project Controls and Support Manager of the Capital Programs & Construction Division for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. He plays a key role in the Capital programs by developing and implementing processes that provide relevant controls for scope, schedule and budget for capital projects.

Mike has worked for the City and County of San Francisco for 12 years. He worked for the Department of Public Works from 2009 until 2017, where he worked in Operations overseeing Operating & Capital Budgets, implementing cost and budget control procedures and led the procurement team. Prior to his tenure with the City, Mike worked in the private sector for three non-profit housing and development firms from 2005 to 2008. He holds a Bachelors in Cognitive Science from University of California at Berkley and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Southern California.
