The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) releases the following upcoming event-related traffic and transit impacts for this week from Thursday, Sept. 25 through Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.

Event at Chase Center
Thursday, Sept. 25 through Wednesday, Oct. 1: There will be multiple events to be held at the Chase Center:
- Thursday, Sept. 25: Concert performance by Jona Brothers will take place. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 30: Concert performance by Laufey will take place. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Oct. 1: Concert performance by Benson Boone will take place. The show will start at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
Muni will provide supplement 78X Arena Express service:
- Pre-event express shuttle service from 16th Street BART Station to Chase Center will start two and a half hours before each game/event and will end one hour after game/event starts.
- Post-event express shuttle service from Chase Center on 16th Street to 16th Street BART Station will run until the clears.
Special Event Parking Rates
During basketball games and other area major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees at the arena, parking meters close to the arena will charge a special event rate of $12 per hour. These rates help reduce congestion and keep parking spots available in the neighborhoods near the arena, discouraging circling for free or cheap parking. Start times for special event rates vary based on the start time of the event. More information on special event parking regulations can be found on www.sfmta.com/special-event-parking.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.
Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.
No Parking Zone
To facilitate loading and pick up for Muni customers and patrons, NO PARKING will be in effect at these locations during events:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Between the 500 and 700 blocks of Terry Francois Boulevard (TFB)
Taxi Stands
There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.
Other pickup/drop-off locations near Chase Center
- 4th Street, which connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.
- Owens Street, which also connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.

San Francisco Giants Baseball Game
Friday, Sept. 26 through Sunday, Sept. 28: The San Francisco Giants will play three games at the ballpark. Listed below are the start time for these games:
- Three games against the Colorado Rockies: 1) 7:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26; 2) 1:05 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27; and 3) 12:05 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:
- Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after the first pitch until the seventh inning.
- From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
- Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

- 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
- 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
- 3rd Street, west side, north of King Street

Sunset After Dark
Friday, Sept. 26: Sunset After Dark is a family-friendly market showcasing the Sunset’s unique culinary and cultural diversity. This event will take place on Irving Street between 20th and 23 avenues, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. For more information, visit www.dearcommunity.org/sunsetafterdark.
A closure of Irving Street between 20th and 23rd avenues will be required from 3 to 11 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26.
Intersections will remain open.
There will be no impact on Muni service.
Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival
Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28: The Autumn Moon Festival, will transform the iconic Grant Avenue in San Francisco Chinatown for two days, Saturday and Sunday, into an attractive Asian-themed corridor with outdoor dining, cultural exhibits, children’s activities, martial arts, art displays and vendor offerings. The festival will take place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. For event details, visit www.moonfestival.org.
Friday, Sept. 26 to Sunday, Sept. 28: The following street closures will be required from 10 p.m., Friday to 10:30 p.m., Sunday:
- Grant Avenue from California Street to Broadway
- Commercial Street from Kearny Street to Grant Avenue
- Intersection: Commercial Street at Grant Avenue
There will be no impact on Muni service.
Folsom Street Fair
Sunday, Sept. 28: The annual Folsom Street Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Attendance is expected to be significantly lower than in past years. For event details visit https://www.folsomstreet.org/megaho.
The following street closures will be required from 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27 to 2 a.m., Monday, Sept. 29:
- Folsom Street between 8th and 13th streets
- 9th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- 10th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- 11th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- 12th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- All alleys and intersections bounded by 8th, Howard, 13th and Harrison streets
Traffic around the event area will be heavily congested. Motorists are advised to stay away from the event area and areas where street closures are enforced.
For northbound traffic, please use Harrison Street, travel to 13th Street and to Duboce Avenue. For southbound traffic, please use Octavia Boulevard for US101 South Freeway.
The following Muni routes will be affected: 9 San Bruno; 12 Folsom/Pacific; 19 Polk; 27 Bryant; and 90 San Bruno OWL.
For pick up and drop off only, there will be limited number of temporary taxi stands for the event on both north west and south west side of 8th and Folsom streets.
Fiesta on the Hill
Sunday, Sept. 28: BHNC will hold its Fiesta on the Hill in the Bernal Heights neighborhood on Cortland Avenue between Bocana and Folsom streets. The community event features seven blocks of food vendors, arts and crafts and local goods and services. The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more details, see https://bernalfiesta.com/.
The following street closures will take place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.:
- Cortland Avenue from Bocana to Folsom streets
- Moultrie Street from Eugenia to Cortland avenues
- Ellsworth Street from Eugenia to Cortland avenues
- Anderson Street from Eugenia to Jarboe avenues
Muni route 24 Divisadero will be impacted.
Cole Valley Fair
Sunday, Sept. 28: The 22nd annual Cole Valley Fair will take place on Cole Street between Frederick and Grattan streets and on Parnassus Avenue between Shrader and Belvedere streets. Event hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The following street closures will be required from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.:
- Cole Street between Frederick and Grattan streets
- Parnassus Avenue between Belvedere and Shrader streets
- Intersection of Cole Street and Parnassus Avenue
The following Muni routes will be affected: 6 Hayes/Parnassus; 37 Corbett; 43 Masonic and N Judah Bus.
CONSTRUCTION WORK AND OTHER UPDATES
NEW: Caltrans Off Ramp Closures
Monday, Sept. 29 through Friday, Oct. 4: Caltrans will close off-ramps to install wrong-way signage and striping. During the installation work:
- No more than two ramps will be closed at a time;
- Consecutive ramps will not be closed simultaneously;
- For contingency purposes, multiple dates of closure are scheduled for a single location;
- Depends on the work progress, closures hours reflected may or may not be fully utilized.

Signage will be placed in advance of these closures and detour routes.
UPDATE: SFPUC Geary Boulevard Sewer and Water Replacements
Now until 2027: Replacement work of sewer and water lines is currently taking place along Geary Boulevard between 32nd Avenue and Stanyan Street.
Due to construction work at multiple locations, some of the bus stops for Muni routes 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid will be temporarily relocated nearby:
- Monday, Sept. 15 to Thursday, Sept. 25, Outbound stop relocation to facilitate work at Geary Boulevard and 3rd Avenue
- Monday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Oct. 3, Outbound stop relocation to facilitate work at Geary Boulevard and 17th Avenue
ONGOING
ONGOING: Sewer Replacement and Street Reconstruction in the Wharf Area
Now through Mid-October: As part of this work, bus stops will be relocated and some bus lines will be rerouted. The work area is Powell Street between Jefferson and North Point streets, and, on North Point Street between Mason and Powell streets. The following Muni routes will be impacted by the construction work:
